Sturgeon Moon
On the evening of Thursday 11th August 2022 a particularly bright 'super-moon' could be seen in the sky. It was known as a "Sturgeon Moon" because, traditionally, it lit the period when sturgeon fish were most readily caught in the Great Lakes and Lake Champlain of North America.
Many people enjoyed the sight of the large, yellowy-orange moon and one of them was Sacha Pemberthy in South Devon, England. Her photo of the moon provided the inspiration for this painting. The print is available unframed, as a Giclée square print (304 x 304mm) on 310gsm Hahnemühle German Etching paper. |
Cathedral Town
At the heart of St Albans and at its highest point is the cathedral, an Abbey built on the Shrine of St Alban - the first English martyr. Brimming with history and a centre for pilgrimage, the Abbey is a familiar landmark to anyone living in the area.
With so many splendid views of the Abbey to choose from, this was a particular favourite - looking across Verulamium Park as the early morning mist lifted. The print is available unframed, as a Giclée A3 landscape print (297 x 420mm) on 310gsm Hahnemühle German Etching paper. This picture is also available as a Poster Print. |
